Jeanie Marie Buss, an American businesswoman. she is the current president and owner-controller of the Los Angeles Lakers in the National Basketball Association. Buss was born in California and grew up an heir to a prestigious family. Jerry Buss, her father was a successful entrepreneur in the field of real estate and later became owner of Lakers Sports and Entertainment. When her parents broke up in 1972, she believed they'd abandoned her. When she was 19 years old, she joined the family's business as general manager for the Los Angeles Strings professional tennis team. She then founded the Los Angeles Blades team of professional roller hockey. She served as the president of the Great Western Forum before assuming the role of vice president for the Lakers.
