Ann Turkel

She lives with her family in Beverly Hills, California with Samantha and Olivia. They were together for just eight years, and divorced for 20, but Ann Turkel is still struggling to come to terms with the death of her husband, Richard Harris. Turkel was born in the midst of a Jewish family and raised with her mom in Manhattan. At 16 years old, she had studied under Sanford Meisner and Philip Burton Both at the Neighborhood playhouse, as well as at in the American Musical and Dramatic Academy. She is grateful to her mother as a source of inspiration for her creative pursuits. Ann took classes in acting, dancing and vocal throughout her early years. Ann was just 16 when she began studying at the Neighborhood Playhouse, the Musical Theatre Academy. She also studied alongside Sandy Meisner. Ann as well as a number of her classmates from high school created a school-based rock and roll group. Also, she performed in a season of summer stock stage at the Berkshire Playhouse in Stockbridge, Massachusetts in such plays as The Pajama Game" and West Side Story. Ann's performance with her band in fashion events was when Gloria Schiff, editor of Vogue Magazine, discovered Ann. Diana Vreeland, the editor in chief at Vogue Magazine, had Ann photograph her first Vogue magazine cover in just several days. Ann then became one the top models across the United States, appearing on the covers of some of the most popular magazines for fashion. These included Vogue Bazaar as well Cosmopolitan. Ann made her international debut with Europe as well as Japan as a model in the fashion magazine Max Factor Revlon.
