Winona-Ryder

Winona Ryder is the professionally-known name given to Winona Laura Hoowitz. She was born in Winona Minnesota. Her name was chosen by her parents for the town where she grew in. Both her father Michel Horowitz, and mother Cynthia Palmer are authors and editors. Ryder is a Jew. Ryder believes that her father was from a Jewish background. The actress is the younger sister of Uria and two half-siblings Jubal as well as Sunyata. Ryder was born in the United States and moved with her family members to Mendocino County California at the age of seven. Here, they did not have electricity. Ryder was an avid reader and spent her time reading books as she had no television. Ryder began taking acting classes when Ryder was 12, and was enrolled in classes at the American Conservatory Theatre. In 1986, she got her first major-screen appearance in the film Lucas she was only 15 years old. Ryder had to deal with bullying throughout her time in high school. She thought that by becoming an actor, her behavior could be reduced. However, it didn't happen. But she continued to chase her dreams. Her breakthrough came through Tim Burton's Beetlejuice in 1988. Ryder kept playing successful roles in several movies. In 1993 she received two nominations for Academy Awards. One of was for her performance in The Age of Innocence.
